Scope of Services Provided

Haven Chicago LLC offers nonmedical holistic health consulting, natural health education, nutrition information, and lifestyle support only. These services:

Are based on natural health and nutritional concepts intended for general educational purposes.
Do not include diagnosing, treating, curing, or preventing any disease or medical condition.
Do not substitute for medical advice, medical treatment, or medical diagnosis from a licensed healthcare provider.

The services provided by Haven Chicago LLC fall within the exemptions recognized under the following Tennessee statutes:

(a) Nonmedical Nutrition Exemption (TCA § 63-25-104(7))

Haven Chicago LLC provides services and information related to nonmedical nutrition, including operating a business that sells health products, dietary supplements, foods or food materials, or disseminates nonmedical nutritional information or literature. Haven Chicago LLC does not hold themselves out as a licensed or registered dietitian or nutritionist and does not claim to provide medical nutrition therapy.

(b) Natural Health Information Exchange (TCA § 63-6-205(c))

Haven Chicago LLC operates under the exemption for natural health information exchanges. Specifically:

Haven Chicago LLC’s services are not conducted for the prevention, diagnosis, or treatment of any physical ailment, injury, or deformity.
Haven Chicago LLC provides information and education related to herbs, foods, supplements, and general wellness concepts.
Haven Chicago LLC is not a licensed practitioner of the healing arts (or a practice of such practitioners) in the state of Tennessee and does not meet the recognized qualifications for providing diagnosis, treatment, or medical care in this state.

Not a Medical Practice

Haven Chicago LLC and its employees and agents are not licensed medical doctors, osteopathic physicians, chiropractors, dentists, podiatrists, or any other type of licensed healthcare practitioners in the state of Tennessee or in any other jurisdiction.

Under Tennessee Code Annotated (TCA) § 63-6-204(a), any person who “treats, or professes to diagnose, treat, operates on or prescribes for any physical ailment or any physical injury to or deformity of another” is deemed to be practicing medicine. Haven Chicago LLC does not diagnose, treat, prescribe for, or operate on any physical ailment, injury, or deformity. Therefore, Haven Chicago LLC does not engage in the practice of medicine as defined by Tennessee law.
